Water Boil Alert for the Village of Shreve

Attention Residents of Shreve:

Due to a recent water main break near Market and Church Street, we are issuing an immediate Boil Water Alert for all residents and businesses within the Village of Shreve. This precautionary measure is necessary to ensure the safety and health of all our community members.

Duration of the Alert:

This boil alert is in effect for a 24-hour period from the time of this announcement. We will provide updates as more information becomes available and when the advisory is lifted.

Safety Precautions:

Please boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes. Water should be brought to a full boil for at least 1 minute before use.

Alternatively, you may use bottled water for the aforementioned purposes until the boil alert has been officially lifted.

Reason for the Boil Alert:

The break in the water main may cause a decrease in water pressure throughout our water system, leading to a potential contamination risk. The boil alert is issued out of an abundance of caution to protect against any harmful bacteria or microbes that could be present in the water.

What is Being Done:

Our water system engineers and emergency repair team are working diligently to repair the water main break and to restore normal water service as quickly and safely as possible. Water samples will be collected and tested to ensure the water meets safety standards before the boil alert is lifted.

For Further Information:

Residents can stay informed through our official Village of Shreve Website www.shrevevillagehall.org and social media channel here on Facebook. For immediate concerns or questions, please contact the Shreve Village Water Department at 330-567-2601.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to ensure the safety of our water supply. Please prioritize the safety of your family and yourself by following the guidelines outlined in this alert.
