Subject: Severe Weather Alert for the Village of Shreve


[Shreve, OH – April 2, 2024]– The Village of Shreve is under a severe weather alert. Meteorologists predict intense storms beginning this afternoon and continuing through the late evening. These storms could cause damaging winds, heavy rain, tornadoes, and power outages.


Important Safety Instructions:

  • Stay indoors and away from windows. Seek shelter in the lowest level of your home during severe winds or tornadoes.
  • Prepare for outages. Charge essential electronic devices and ensure your emergency kit is prepared.
  • Report downed lines immediately. DO NOT approach downed power lines. Call 911, Shreve Village Hall at 330-567-2600, or AEP Ohio at 800-672-2231 to report them.
  • Monitor local news and weather alerts. Updates on the storm will be broadcast through local media.
  • Be cautious outdoors after the storm. Hidden hazards, including downed lines, may be obscured by debris.
  • It's important to note that in the event of a power outage, the Village of Shreve's emergency generators will be in use to keep the Water Treatment Plant and the Wastewater Treatment Plant fully operational.


The Shreve Village Administration including the Mayor will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary. The safety of our citizens is our top priority.

Public Notice – Road Closure Update | Village of Shreve This is an update to the March 14 notice regarding road closures due to storm damage and downed utility lines. The majority of previously affected roads have been reopened. Wells Street remains closed at this time while AEP Ohio and Brightspeed continue repair work on the damaged utility pole. Residents and motorists are asked to continue avoiding Wells Street and to use alternate routes until further notice.
